Just bought a DDF-350 and as not fussed about the Gyro and metal steering wheel got it for $45!

Vanquish is on a taller tire stock. It says 4.75 but it's more like 4.9.

How are you liking the machete? I've been considering one for a bit. Do you know if the 4s and the 6s are the same other than the power plant? Seems like a solid value over the arrmas.

What would be your recommendation for someone who wants to crawl on a backyard course and use it walking on a rail trail and crawling on things on the side of the trail?

Yes, 100% repeat the test with equal tires. I have seen a few other videos comparing the Vanquish Stance to the Redcat Ascent Fusion and their conclusions are pretty much the same as yours as far as performance goes. The Vanquish has slightly better clearance and much better tires with better traction, but the Redcat has the slow speed control, the wheel speed if you need it, and the better stock servo as well. In every test I have seen, the overall result in performance is pretty much equal. However, this does NOT make them equal trucks. Overall, the Redcat Ascent wins by a MASSIVE margin, its actually the very best "high performance" RTR crawler on the market now. Why do I say that? Because of the price and the features. Sure, the Vanquish may perform similarly overall, but it costs $100 more, has a standard (cheap) brushed motor that is too jumpy, and the Redcat has a Carbon Fiber chassis as well as brass weights already installed on the front axle which is why the weight distribution is better. You see, in order to make the RedCat an INCREDIBLE truck, all you need is Better Tires, Better Foams, and for extra points - Brass High Clearence Lower Links. To make the Vanquish an INCREDIBLE truck, you need basically all new electronics, the upgraded links, the carbon fiber chassis, and the front axle brass portal covers to equal the same value as the RedCat. So the incredible version of the RedCat will cost you around $500 plus tax all said and done. The incredible version of the Vanquish will cost you about $1000.

Quite an informative video! This is interesting and now has me thinking about putting a mild overdrive in my TRX-4M F-150 that I'm going to use primarily as a trail truck and build a Tarantula chassis kit for extreme crawling. I guess some overdrive ought to help with towing by giving the front a little more pulling effectiveness. Was thinking I could put the Tarantula on a trailer and use the TRX-4M to haul it around until we get to a rock crawl spot to offload it and play, lol. Let me ask you this... what about overdriving both axles to give it more pulling power overall while still having say, 11-15% overdrive in the front? Think that would work?

Vanquish tires on the Redcat, Redcat will win in every scenerio.

I just bought this crawler in Silver this very morning. Took some time to convert all my charge cables with XT60 & replace the Deans which shipped on my Zee 2200 3s. I am good to go after learning transmitter programming. Canceled my Horiz Hob Redcat order and made the switch. Rest of vid will tell me why.

Just got these in the mail for my Redcat rds. Any recommendations or tips? I plan to get 3 different shock oil weights with intentions on maximizing visible body roll. Do you think my goals will tend toward a light spring with thick oil and zero rebound? I’ve tried 5,10, and 15w shock oil with oem shocks and springs…….. and it hasn’t really provided the effect I’m looking for. I even cut 1 and 2 coils off the oem springs just to see what it would do in relation to shock spring mount holes. I have everything straight up and down right now.

I know why you’re motor kept getting hot. It’s because you probably changed your pending gear and spar gear but if not, you’re just flooring it all the time.

sharks.. you showed how fast each of the servo moved except the one you recommended. Would be great to see how close it is to the stated 0-60degree speed spec.
